The Project

Inner Version is a music project initially comprised of a range of modern piano music written using an evolution of some of the compositional techniques of Sergei Rachmaninoff and Johann Sebastian Bach. The pieces are intended primarily for solo piano, although there may be fuller orchestral versions of the pieces at a later stage in the project.

The published performances of the piano sketches are available to download for personal and non-commercial use, although please contact us if you wish to license the music for a commercial project.

Influences

The major musical influences include the emotional force of Sergei Rachmaninoff and Ralph Vaughan Williams; the mathematical beauty of Johann Sebastian Bach; the avant-garde art of Claude Debussy; the cool/modal jazz of Miles Davis and Bill Evans; the slick jazz/rock of Donald Fagen and Steely Dan; the serenity of the early ambient works of Aphex Twin; the film music of Ennio Morricone and Henry Mancini; and the raw power and punctuality of Spinal Tap.

Inner Version Ltd is a company which publishes the music and is a privately held limited company, registered in England and Wales, company number 06032505. Inner Version Ltd also publishes the online game Tropic Euro - an online adaptation of the Puerto Rico board game - another project by Chris Gibbs.
